Creative critical reflection

How much continuity does the video have? Are there any places where the continuity can be improved? How? I think the continuity is at a stable continuity, I think we are missing some in the news scenes. I think if we had more continuity it would give a better flow, in other words a better rollover. So the script would go more smoothly, but either way it looks fine as it is.  To what extent is the video readable as a film opening? Can you understand that it's an opening? Why or why not? What can you do to make it more readable? I think it's pretty good and it is in a good way to actually read it off. For example, our film falls perfectly with what the script is gone by, so when the news stations gives the "news" we can tell that it is in chronological order. We also have shown that our film opening is pretty good at readable level.   To what extent is the video readable within your chosen genre? Can you tell it's a horror/thriller/comedy/coming-of-age etc.? How c

In what locations will your film be shot? Why? Include pictures and/or videos of real shooting locations. It will be filmed in our local park, an office, and our own house. The reason for this is because all of these places will be vital for us to make our scenes in.  Who will act in your film, if anyone? Why? What considerations do you need to make for scheduling and preparing your actors for production? Everyone in the group will be acting, so we can show the best performance, we will try to meet up sometimes we already have a group so we can planned ahead if we want to meet up. What will your film look, feel, and sound like? Why? How will you achieve it? Consider all the aspects of mise-en-scene. Provide examples of title sequences, screenshots, images, and/or audio samples to show what is in your imagination. Our film will give a kind of creepy vibe to scared the audience. It will sound the same like most scary movies sound like and feel weird. To give off the scared vibe that it

case study

A film that is extremely similar to mine would be all the terminator movies and scream combine. The genre of these movies would be action and terror since they both have their fair share of terror I would think these are a extremely similar to my film in the making. Terminator (Genysis) budget totals up to about 155 million USD (2015) and Scream(1996) made an estimate 15 million USD. Auidence was mostly meant for young adults and teens, given the type of humor, action, and horror in the films. It has roughly made  “Terminator: Genisys,” which hits theaters on July 1, was reportedly produced on a budget of $155 million and will be released at 3,700 locations including Imax, reports.  Complete a case study following a film of your choice from its inception all the way through to its exhibition: History/target audience: Terminator 5 was created to keep alive the terminator franchise, which it successfully did and even got it to make another terminator, this film is obviously aimed at an

Blog post entry Jan 24

In todays week I will start trying to write the script. For the script I will first start off with a fade in and a mysterious planet as the setting, then out of nowhere someone appears in the background. Now as far as characters go I only got the idea to put the main character(Rex), Protagonist(terminator looking robot), and a skinny guy with glasses to represent (the nerd). The main conflict of my film is that robots have taken over and Rex along with others try to survived by moving through different obstacles and places. I will take inspiration from "Terminator Genysis" opening scene but instead of having so many people I will be doing it solo with one more person.  Overall goal of my movie is to have a new legacy to the movie of terminator. With less people and younger characters. I also want to show a dark side of it by having it have jump scares of the terminator, at the end of the opening scene the terminator catches me and then thats when it cuts( obviously in the re

Questions 1/19

What does the script look like for your film? You should have at least a basic summary of the film in order to pitch it. Research and skim screenplays for other films in your genre to get an idea of what they look like (this is also a great exercise for scripting your opening sequence). Resource:  http://www.moviescriptsandscreenplays.com/  (Links to an external site.) What is your "brand" or "mission statement" for your film? What are you striving towards? What are you trying to achieve with your story? Your brand will be important for choosing a production company and pitching your film. What are some films that are similar to yours (genre, budget, audience, etc.)? How are they typically financed? Where does the money come from?
